Keith Christopher, born in Atlanta, Georgia, co-founded the Southern rock band, Keith and the Satellites in 1980 alongside Dan Baird, Rick Richards and Davis Michaelson. Later known as the Georgia Satellites, the band is best known for their 1986 single “Keep Your Hands to Yourself”, which went to number two on the US Billboard Top 100. After departing from the group, Christopher recorded on two of Baird’s solo efforts, Love Songs for the Hearing Impaired (1992) and Buffalo Nickel (1996). The song “I Love You Period” made it to twenty-three on the charts. Christopher spent six years in the nineties touring with Billy Joe Shaver, and recorded on the albums Tramp on Your Street (1993), Unshaven (1995), and Electric Shaver (1999). Christopher was a member of the Kenny Wayne Shepard Band in the 2000’s and played on 1999’s Live On. His credits also include Steve Marriott and Humble Pie, and the Brains whose song “Money Changes Everything” became a hit for Cyndi Lauper in 1984. He plays on and off with the Yahoos and is currently a member of legendary southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. Keith and Chico have worked together since 2001. Keith and Chico have played in various bands together as “sidemen” prior to collaborating on Esquela’s debut album, “The Owl Has Landed”, which was released in 2010. Since that time, Keith has lent his talents and musical direction to the band and he continues to collaborate on many of the recordings. For the album, “For the Sake of the Parents”, Keith played all the drum parts; on the album “A Sign From God”, Keith plays all the bass parts. Keith is without a doubt, a versatile and talented musician.
